About Daniel Barrett
Daniel Barrett is a Grammy-nominated producer, acclaimed musician, author, and creative mentor based in Austin, Texas. He produced Ruthie Foster’s Healing Time, which earned a 2023 Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album. Barrett's production on the album was instrumental in melding Foster’s Texas blues-Americana sound with fresh, soulful textures, resulting in a critically acclaimed work described as “an overwhelming feeling of love and freedom” by Rock & Blues Muse.
A Berklee College of Music alumnus (Class of ’99) , Barrett is also the co-founder and frontman of Porterdavis, an award-winning roots trio that garnered three Austin Music Awards in 2009, including Best Roots Rock. Known for their genre-blending sound and dynamic performances, Porterdavis has been a staple in the Austin music scene for over two decades.
Beyond performance and production, Barrett is the co-author of The Remembering Process (Hay House, 2014), a transformative guide to creativity and manifestation co-written with Dr. Joe Vitale. The book introduces a technique that empowers individuals to "remember" their future successes, offering a unique approach to achieving personal and professional goals.
As the founder of Rubicon Artist Development, Barrett mentors emerging artists, guiding them to discover and amplify their authentic voices. His holistic approach to artistry—integrating musical excellence with personal growth—has made him a respected figure in the creative community.
Thanks Daniel! Lookin' forward to our next project.”
